One of the world’s 25 most “pinned” pictures on Instagram, Rakotzbrücke in Saxony is also known as the Devil’s Bridge! Spanning a lake in the idyllic Park of Bad Muskau (a world heritage site) this unique-looking stone bridge was already built in the 19th century.
From the perfect angle it will look like a perfect stone circle, when you see its reflection in the water below. It earned its nickname of “Devil’s Bridge” because the construction seemed so impossible that it must have been built by, well, the devil himself! Or perhaps it’s just down to that ever-so-clever German engineering?
