When it comes to food, most foreigners will associate Munich with traditional food such as roasted pork and dumplings. The recent appointment of Munich’s Restaurant L’Atelier to the Olymp of 3 star restaurants, however has shed new light on the city’s thriving gourmet scene. Under the reign of excellent Chef Jan Hartwig, L’Atelier has jumped from 1 to 3 stars in just 2 years.
There are more gourmet temples to pay your respects at! Eleven additional restaurants have earned one or two stars recently. VIPs should head to Tantris, another culinary legend, while the gourmands will love Dallmayers. Experienced foodies will encounter the perfect fusion between European and Asian cuisine at Tohru Nakamura’s Werneckhof.
